Ed Grenga
Music Composer, Producer, Musician, Songwriter
Ed Grenga played his first professional gig at the age of thirteen.
By the age of seventeen he was a full-time professional musician in the Boston area, and by nineteen was crisscrossing the country in various rock and R&B bands. In 1985, he moved to Los Angeles where he worked for award-winning producer Ross Vannelli, brother of Canadian recording star, Gino Vannelli. Together they wrote and produced records for artists, Jeffrey Osborne, Howard Hewett (Shalamar), Kim Carnes, Buddy Miles, and others. Ed moved back to Boston in 1989, after having bolstered his resume with music scores and songs for three major motion pictures, a Top Ten song, two Gold and two Platinum albums.
In 1990, Ed, along with two partners, Douglas Stevens and Charles Lawry, built Handsome Brothers Music, Inc. studios in the cellblock of the old Somerville, MA police station.
It quickly became one of the top music production houses in the Boston area.
Ed has worked on his own since 2007, as a songwriter, composer, and producer. In all, he has more than twenty feature films under his belt, as well as dozens of documentaries, tv shows and network IDs, and hundreds of soundtracks and ads for some of the top Fortune 500 companies in America.
In 2022 Ed, reunited with his former partner, Doug Stevens, to form Kozmic Debris LLC, a boutique production music library that specializes in dramatic music for film and documentaries. In October of 2022, they signed a representation/administration deal with Los Angeles-based Bulletproof Bear. Kozmic Debris launched on Bulletproof Bear’s
platform in January 2023.
